Hi There!
I am a newcomer and this is the first message I am posting to the forum..
Right now I am working on a small diorama but when I am done with this, I would like to do something fancy like an AFV with camouflage paint.
I am thinking about the alternatives for doing the camouflage work. Airbrushing seems inevitable. However, I would like to take a low-cost path for the starters..
I was checking out what was available on the Net. Then I came across the Revell Combi-Sets with pressurized bottles for air supply (Starter - Standard and Complete Set).
Does anyone out there have something to say about these products? Any highlights?
Thanks in advance..

Hi Wolf-Pack
And welcome to the best modeling forum there is! As for your question. I have never used, or seen the Revell Combi-Set.
It may be low cost for starters. But one thing I do know is canned air is expensive, and the cost adds up fast. So no matter which AB you buy, think of a small air compressor in the future.
Good Luck!

Hi Wolf-Pack, I use the basic Revell airbrush more than my more expensive double action one as it is good for basic camouflage paterns. Plus it is good for practicing, which is the real secret to getting a good paint finish. As Tek2 said the canned air is OK at the beginning but they can be expensive when doing a lot of spraying. But it is not a good idea to spend a lot of money on compressors and top of the range airbrushes until you actually see for yourself what the benefits would be to you in using one.

Hi,
Thanks for your feedback.
It looks like, the major drawback of using a pressure bottle system such as Revell's is the incremental cost of air. Apart from that, what I understand from brandydoguk's comment, it does not seem to have any obvious problems regarding the quality of the finishing etc. Bearing in mind that I will be doing a moderate volume of spraying work at the beginning, I think I will give it a try.
Cheers..
