I have got a little more finished on the tanker. The body is carved out of wood and covered with foil. the rest is made from Evergreen plastic stock and different size wire.

That going to be a cool model I really like the dents you put in the tanker. On a side note, where do you keep all these big truck models? Great work, can't wait to see it finished.

I don't keep them all. I have about six semi's at home. the rest are at the Museum or given to my Vietnam Bros.

Very cool Dave! One day I'm going to have to build a tanker myself.

Dave that is a real cool looking build. You have also taught me something with this post as I would never have thought of using wood with foil over for the body.
Keep us posted with this one mate.

This was the first time that I used wood. I will be using it from now on for any of the bulk pieces like the tank body. I tried making the tank body out of resin. Besides costing too much for resin material, the weight was out of bounds. the wheels and axles could not hold up to the weight. The Balsa and Bass wood is easy to work with and the foil tape seals the wood for the primer and paints.
