Here are a couple of diorama's that I had done prior to deploying to Iraq. The first is titled "Counterattack!!" and features a JSII and dismounted infantry counter attacking through the rubble of a former building which housed a now fallen MG-34 team. There is probably a whole lot more I could have done to this, but I got kinda burned out on it after a while.
The second dio is titled "Break time" and features an Italeri Panther with complete interior that can only be partially be seen........arrgh, and some figures that were cobbled together from the spares box. Story line shows the driver pointing out something he has noticed to his fellow tankers. I never did finish this as what he is pointing out isnt there. FYI...its a hand stuck up in the running gear of the tank. Kinda gruesome I know, but not overpowering. Let me know what you think. Thanks. "Q"
I'll post some more pics in my gallery.

Nice pair
I like your idea of what was found. Couple of niggly nits - the figure pointing could use a bit of dark brown shadows or wash on his uniform. He could especially use it where his sleeve opening is.
I like the smoking cigarette nice detail. I'd like to see more of the second building.

Slodder, thanks for the heasd up on the driver figure. I never noticed it before, the sleeve detail that is. I can shoot a couple of more pics of the building and post them in that particular forum. It is the Italeri offering that was hollow on the back side. I cut some sheet plastic to match the outline of the building and glued it over the opening. Liquitex and some other goodies were added for the texture. Didnt want to put these under the beginner forum, but thats where they ended up....oh well. Thanks again. "Q"

I love your urban scenery! I've never attempted an urban setting. Dead Germans in "counterattack" look great... you might recall my dead guys in the nebelwerfer trench dio (see gallery). They aren't as good as yours. How is the Tamya USSR infantry kit? detailed? It that the Dragon Js2 kit because i have that but i didn't get any decals!
Cheers

Colt, Thanks for the compliments. The ruins are actually balsafoam that has been carved. Very easy to work with and inexspensive to boot. The Tamiya infantry troops are very nice. Some of the facial detail are a little soft on some, but over all good. The JSII is the Dragon kit. No major problems with the build, as even the link to link tracks went together without a hitch. It has its problems (overall diorma that is) but nothing I will lose sleep over. Thanks again for the kind words. "Q"

Nice concept in CounterAttack... I really like the insinuated action. The figures look well done on both sides, and I agree, the Tamiya Russian troops are probably the best that Tamiya has ever released... normally their figures are rather crude (not nearly as nice as the kits from Dragon/DML).
As for the second dio, I think your paint work is again well done, but I really feel it is too "forced" because of the way the tank hangs off the end of the base... but he building doesn't balance out on the other end... it looks - well - "off". perhaps this was intentional. The other snag is the way the road debris kind of 'stops' just under the tank. Spray a little white glue/water with a mist sprayer, then sprinkle a bit of dry kitty litter under there to finish the effect.
As for the balsafoam - glad to see you have joined the fold. I've been selling a ton of the stuff on the website, but mostly to European modellers.... the stuff is the BEST I've ever seen or used for our hobby.
