Wow...I am progressing finally after a few months break...I posted my images in the gallery to show my turret to include my scratchbuilt additional turret basket and jerrycan holders ala 1/64 Armor, 3D ID. I am hoping to get this thing off my workbench in time for the IPMS Nationals in Phoenix.

Bob - this is looking very nice. I like the additional stowage boxes attached to the Turret. I know the similarities between the Italeri and Trumpeter kits - how's construction of the basic kit going for you?

Coming on nicely Bob. The PE parts gives good details to your build. Keep us posted.

That looks very sharp. I esp. like the scratch built racks. Is that just generic PE mesh you have in them? Fine job.

Gunnie,
I am surprised at how relatively easy the kit is to build. So far the hardest thing was putting the coaxial mg shroud in place properly (and fixing the turret face! )
Thanks for the complements!

Shaun,
Yes, just good ol' K&N mesh cut to fit. Used a dremel with a cutting wheel then used a file to clean it up.
Again, thanks for the complements! I hope to be able to update with progress soon (I've only been building this kit sinec 08 Apr 03!)

I have to give credit where it's due. Paul Truhe ( ptruhe) came up with these CIP panels and I got them for a few bucks a set. They really are a great deal!

M60A3, it looks very promising! I also like the extra stowage racks... gonna use yours as a template for mine....
Andreas, I got this one from Pawel (Vodnik) when I asked for pics of the extra gas-can stowage rack...
Hope this helps...

Great pic, Jurgen! I do have to add mesh into the sides and back of the rack.
My basis for measurment was the Tamiya water can. I put 3 of them together and based the rack on their dimensions. I used Evergreen strip plastic in the small "L" beam shape for the rack.
tonight I'll shoot a closer pic and post it for you.
Andreas, I had a bunck of 1/64 tank photos, but they were on my work computer which crashed and I lost the hard drive. Most of what I did was based on the pics of "Cojone, Eh" after it was burned out.

Howdy m60a3, (hey wait a minute,that's not an M60! ),
She's really looking good pal! And, like everyone, I especially enjoy your scratched additional racks, but.............now when I think I've got my turret done, what does someone go and do?????? Come up with another great idea, and another little extra to add!!!
Just kiddin' ya m60, I like 'em. Now I just need to break out the Evergreen...again.

I thought they looked familiar. Glad to see you put them to use. I like the racks you built.

Yeah, I wanted to work my skills out on this beast before I broke plastic on my RoG A3! That will be my labor of love!
BTW, Tread, I can't tell you how many times I am pulling up pics of your Abrams for inspiration!
