What percentage of thinner to paint do you guys use for enamels. I am using both humbrol and testors. I also use testors thinner/airbrush cleaner to dilute.

I usually start with a 50/50 mix, mainly because it's easy to measure, and then add more paint or thinners as necessary.

On the back of the Testors thinner bottle, they suggest a ratio of 3 parts paint to 2 parts thinner for gloss colours and 3 parts paint to 2 parts thinner for flat colours.
As for me, I keep my thinner in one of those Lemon juice containers that's a lot easier to pour out of. I put a little thinner in and test spraying it. I can tell if it's right or if it needs more thinner (or, if I really mess up, needs more paint) by how well it is spraying. You don't need to be too exact with the ratios. As long as it works.

How much you thin your paints also depends on your AB's air pressure.
I usually mix it to a "light" milk consistancy. About 40/60 - thinner/paint. And AB at about 15-20 psi.

i use enamels like some people use oils, mix, match and thin. on some faces i use a 90/10 thinner paint and glaze layers to build up the color i need. hey Kencelot i prefer American tanks losing there turrets!
