Hi guys, I'd like to do a couple of conversions of Trumpeters' M1 with the MILES gear . Are there after market parts available for this training equipment and add ons? If so, how accurate are they?
I'd rather scratch-build the parts, but can't seem to find proper reference pictures , can anyone direct me please?
Many thanks!

The Tamiya US modern accesory set carries two sprues with the miles gear in it, I've got the kit here, but I can't find it on the internet (perhaps that it is OOP)

Thanks mate, I know about the Hoffman Device, and the Trumpeter kits come with the extra antenna, signal lamp and instructions for modifying the .50 cal..But from the few pictures I've seen on the net, there's alot of missing details and what-nots attached to sides of the Abrams turret, etc.
hmm, what to do?

AngryDog,
I wrote this article a while back. I hope this will help out a little bit.

Nope that's not the one I was talking about (Got this one too, and it is nice, but it doesn't carry the MILES stuff) The one I was talking about is called;
Modern US accesory set (mm141)
edit
Oh... and it only carries the Hoffman device...
(funny I can't find any prod# on it, I'll try and scan it tomorow...)
Come to think of it, maybe this isn't such a good idea if you want to go for just the MILES... it is a great set, but that's just because of the many stowage options...

Thanks guys for all your input.[
I have both the Modern Military Equipment and Assessory sets from tamiya. I use em for all my Abram kits I'm working on for sale. I've just started my Model Build Up Service Website http://www.angrydogproductions.com
Please take a look at my M1A2 Abrams article and tell me what you think. (be gentle, my M1A2 is my 2nd Armor kit )
I've a couple of Abrams that I'll like to complete with the full MILES gear, (perhaps with working LEDs) thus is looks like Epi's article is what I'm looking for, I've the hoffman device & other stuff but I don't have good references on specifically the CATIES (apparently there aren't any after market parts for these?)
Epi, can you direct me to the pictures u used as reference for building yours? Regarding the "KILL" Light on the turret, guess it "lights" up to simulate being hit? What color is it? Does it rotate or flash? So many questions huh? Many many thanks.

Nick,
I used the books from Concord, like the most recent one on the M1A1/A2 and others like the one about NTC. I also used what i remeber from being at NTC and around them personally.
Actually, SABOT(Rob) would be the guy to ask all these questions too. He is the tanker in this group. As you can see from his post, he is really quick to come back with the info.
