This is what happens when you have too much time on your hands :-) I had to finish this one because it will help to pay for the Trip this June to the Transportation Vietnam Vets reunion at FT. Eustis Va. I had started it about a month ago. The burning tanker is an old model that I had built about a year ago and finally found a use for it. It was one of the first scratch builds I did of a tanker. It didn't look very good so it was a perfect candidate for a destroyed vehicle. And since I need a taker for the ambush scene it fit the bill.

hi Dave,
I always liked building wheeled vehicles more than tracked ones..I feeI I started to like multi wheeled vehicles more than four wheels after your models.
another very nice one.congrats Brother.
....and there is a saying here; the ones who walk in life route with their hearts always go further than the ones who walk with their feet.(not sure this is a good translation)
best regards

The tractor cab is a converted M-35 A1 2 1/2 ton cab that was home resin casted. The frame and wheels are from the M-925 series Italeri 5 ton Shelter kit. The tanker is totally scratch built with the exception of the rear leaf springs and wheels. the fifth wheel and rear chassis area of the tractor is also scratch built.

The tanker body is carved from balsa wood and covered with metal foil tape. the wheels are from the Italeri shelter truck kit.
