Hi Guys I'm running a Model Build Up Service at my site http://www.angrydogproductions.com and I've got an order for an IDF Magach 6 (or is it 6B?) Or is it the IDF M60A3?
The tank with double smoke launches, and the double(or single) 7.62s where the barrel joints the turret.

Can anyone tell me which companies(Academy,Trumpeter, Etc?) make the most accurate version of this kit and if they can be built out-of the-box without after market conversions?
I noticed on the net that some of these tanks have a rectangular bussel racks instead of curved version on the Academy kit, among other differences like the Academy kit has two 7.62s side by side but no smoke lanuches there, but on the net, there's only one 7.62 between the two smoke launches.

Thanks
Nick

The magach normaly have one .50 cal between the smokelauncers. Not a 7.62.

The academy kit is a magach 6A and would make a nice kit OOB.
The magach 6B has a more squere turrent rear baket.
The magach 6 would have no thermal sleeve.

So does the Academy kit Magach 6A come with the two smoke launches? Does it have one or two .50 cal between the smoke launches?
Are there any Magach 6B that comes with the turret's square rear basket?

Thanks,
Nick

The academy kit comes with the smoke launcers. And I think they also include the double .50 cal's.

Hi,
I am close to finishing the Acadamy #1358, IDF M60-A1 Patton w/Blazer. It has the twin smoke launchers and twin 50's as an option. Also has option of two types of machine guns for the turret. The reactive armor is also an option. Kit was an easy build. Only gripe is the joint between upper and lower hull required a fair amount of filling as there are no skirts. As with most Acadamy kits there are alot of used parts for the spares box.

Hi Nick ,

The academy kits are fine base kits but are not quite right OOB. Magach 6 is an early Mgo with rounded turret, 6A is essentially the type used in 1973(a1 with out blazer) the 6b can be either a1 or a3. if a3 likely to have US style thermal sleeve for gun. I guess to give you any real help I would need to kow what era you want to build. check out my site by clicking the my selected link or go directly to the MAgach reference page at

magach reference

there is also an article on building the 6b gal version under the articles button
