Hi,
Ususally i build tanks or other tracked vhicles and i leave the wheels and tracks off until after i paint everything, tracks and wheels are painted sepratly.
But what about tanks where you have to assemble the tracks as you build (like DML),how does one get a good paint job on the lower hull when every thing is already assembled?

Actually I don't know, but what usuaIly do when i work with non workable individial track links is to build them in "lengths", paint them and then put them on tyhe model...

When building with the detestible IndLin (Individual Link), build, paint and weather the lower hull, running gear and tracks. Then finn the upper parts. All the nastiness that splooshes up from the ground tends to stay below the running boards and fenders anyway.
After mating the top and bottoms, the 'universal' weathering of washes and dust goes everywhere, anyway.
