Well here it is campers.
My snack of a T-34/76,mod 1940.
OOB to the max.Dragon includes tow cable and ends.
Anyone who has a good suggestion for paint color,a lighter green,or a lightened forest green?
This will only be lightly weathered.
Somebody STOP me!!!!!!

Very cool! I'm going to have to get one of those -- I've heard great things about it.
A good color for Soviet armor is dark green. Don't worry too much about getting an exact shade -- their paint varied wildly.

Man, just love the look of those T-34s, I will get one from Ebay, some go for as low as 15 bucks!
Like Hollowpoint said, Soviet tanks were mainly dark green, but I've also used Russian underside green, and it looks great. Make sure to post the finished product!

you really make me want to start building mine right away.in military modeling steve zaloga had an article on the kit its on the front cover as well,he said one of thefew alterations he made was to remove the lower mudflap extensions because they were'nt that common on the 1940 models.

I was leaning towards dark green. And I agree on the tone variation.
As for the mud flap.Since this is a nearly pristine one, they havent had a chance to be torn off.
Also,I want to show off the chock blocks on the flaps.

Hi TankCarl. Really great job there on a very nice kit. I saw there's a very good write-up in the latest edition of MMiR of this kit and it's very nice as well. The builder in that magazine used a mix of Tamiya Oilve Green and Khaki. But I think any general shade of basic green would do. It's kind of all in the weathering anyway.
Take care, sgirty

Nice kit and nice job, have you thought about a Gum-Ka photoetch for the engine grill, its a relatively cheep PE and the enginegrill ads so much to any T-34 kit.
I used it for my T-34 “44 kit from Dragon, and it really lifts the kit milehigh .... well, maybe thats overdoing it ... but you know what i mean...maybe...

Well,I have found a nearly full bottle of Russain armor green,so that should do the trick. As fr crew,no I dont think so .But if someone makes a nice outside the tank commander, maybe. As for photoetch, this is OOB,so I will be avoiding it on this one,but on my 34/85 I will try some

Well I painted the tank.It came out very smooth!I almost don't need a gloss coat,if I put decals on it.
It all fit together perfectly.

Wow you really flew through this build didn't you!! Looks great and it is fun just to build a kit out of the box once and a while . I think I might do that kit OOB too one of these days . It's a great kit to start with so OOB looks fine right beside all those others that you have on the shelf. Good job ..Now back to all those conversions!

Lord Karl
Beautiful T34!!!
The Russian Armor Green is a great color selection, and your light weathering is solid. Lens are nice and clear, (which should make you know who happy).
Another great build from you Carl. Congrats.

Hi, Super buid there. Absoluley great. Love the weathering effects. Going to have to start working with the pastels and other weathering dust products too. They sure do make the difference in te overall finishes.
Sure glad Dragon has come out with the T-34 kits lately, very, very nice products.
Take care, sgirty
