Just a few minutes ago I was checking out the e-bay stuff and came across a CMK/Tamiya model called 'Panzerkampfwagon lV with Krupp L/71'. From the picture, it looked a lot like a Jagdpanzer lV but with a higher profile, and mounting an L/71 88mm without muzzle brake. This is definitely an 88 as it is a two-piece barrel. And it has the late pattern double vertical pipe exhaust. I have never seen or heard of a reference to this vehicle before. Does anyone know if this vehicle actually existed? Or just on paper? I don't think it's a 'what if' or ficticious vehicle.

According to Chamberlain and Doyle's Encyclopedia of German Tanks of WW2, there was a Jagdpanzer IV/70 (A) with a higher profile fighting compartment that mounted the Pak 42 L/70 75mm gun. There's no mention of one fitted with the L/71 88, so either the posting you saw had a typo, it's a paper panzer, or it's something only recently discovered.
