Are there any photo's known on the Internet of:
"Black 114" 1e Kompanie, s.Pz.Abt 503 in Normandy 1944?

Or:
"Red 314" "Anneliese"3e Kompanie s.Pz.Abt. (503) Feldherrnhalle, Hungary winter 1944/45?

These are the decal options in the Dragon kit, and since they probably wouldn't have looked factory fresh I'd like some pictures to see what damage there was to the fenders, zimmerit and maybe the color scheme (although that's probably almost impossible on b/w photos). As you've guessed by now, my Tiger II references are very little.

Any help is appreciated!
Thanks & cheers,
Erik.

I wish I could point you to a web site photo. I can only describe some of what I see in the books I have. The best photo I have of the Porsche turret Tiger is of 1st Company 503rd HTB. In this photo, as best I can tell, it is a three color scheme ambush scheme. There is minimal damage to the zimmerit just below the numerals on the side of the turret. No other visible damage to the zimmerit is visible in this view. One of the tanks in the photo seems to have all of it's skirt in good condition. The other tank is missing it's left front outside section along with the right side's front outer section. This seems to be a common occurrence in most King Tiger photo's I have. Though the Porsche turret photo I have shows most of the skirt in tact, the majority of photo's I have show all of the skirting torn off of most tanks. The only part that seems to last is the inner part of the front fender. The photo I am ging by is from July 1944 outside Normandy.

The baest I can recommend is to do a Google search for images. Just be careful though. Last night I did a googe for pics of a M132A flamethrower (M113 conversion), add got more nudie pics than Tank pics. Just remember Google hits everything with the key words any where in the text.HTH STUG

Thanks for your reply Steve. I did try a Google picture search, but it didn't turn up anything particularly useful. No nude piccies either! I'll try Pzkpfw VIB, maybe that'll turn anything up.... Seems that Tiger 114 was quite new to the front, though since it still had it's trackguards. Anneliese was a different story, but sadly enough in winter camo, so that requires SNOW..... I can do mud, I can do dust, but snow???!!

Cheers,
Erik.
