Does anyone out there have any photographs or drawings of a 106 mm recoilless mounted on an M113?

Hi,
I don't have pictures, but access to a good source. One of my friends is a Vietnam Vet, who actually drove a track with a recky-rifle on it.
He told me these M113s had the field mods toward an ACAV, before these ACAVs started rolling off the line, and instead of the right m-60 mount, in that spot the RR was mounted. He actually made a model of it. I'll see if I can get the pictures if you like. He wasn't sure at that time whether anybody else had an M113 with the RR, his was the only one in that company/batallion.
Cheers,

Verlindan makes a conversion for the South Vietnamese M113 mounting the 106mm RR. It has the rifle, mount, ammo cannisters and a seat ounted on top of the vehicle.

Yes,
And Dragon produced a MULE with an M106 and two marines on it, you could very well use that too.

Skybow also sells the 106mm recoilless rifle separately for about $7.50. Just a sprue in a clear bag with a green cardboard header hanging on a peg board. Comes with the ground mount too.

Thanks guys. Any photos of models will also be appreciated. The Canadian army used them for a time on M113s in the 1960s before the TOW was fielded. Therein lies my interest.

After much searching, a fellow modeller has sent me a Canadian Forces Technical Order (CFTO) showing the 106mm mounted on an M113. Te document is dated1974. Its quite a large file. If anyone is interested, send me your e-mail and I will forward it.
Cheers.

Paul--how detailed is the reference document? Does it show the mounting? That would be a bear to fabricate. How big is the file?
thanks

Col Judge
the whole document is 16 pages in lengthe and about 3 megs. However, there are only four drawings of note, which area just under 1 meg in size in total. It does not appear to be a very complicated conversion with the exception of the internal ammunition stowage. Probably a lot less work than my TUA.
