That is an awesome pic. I can't tell if those are US or Brits standing around trying to figure out the problem.

I thought that pic looked familiar. It's from Korea, 1951. Here's the original Signal Corps caption for that photo:
Quoted Text

ES43-1-62 (SC357349) Men of the 8th Eng Bn, 1st Cav Div put logs under weakened support of a bridge near Yangzi, Korea, to prevent its collapse until a tank retriever can arrive and remove the M-4 tank. 28 Jan 1951

Lots of other neat pics of Shermans in trouble on this Engineers in Korea section of the Center for Military History website: http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/photos/Korea/kwengin/bridges.htm

From the same site (Follow the links), a pic I always thought would be a great diorama:

The caption:
Quoted Text

ES113-16-1 (SC381830) Men of the 2nd Platoon, B Co 10th Engineer Battalion check a tank for booby-traps and the area for mines. 8 Oct 1951.

But it should have been, "Damn, boy, bad enough you broke my track, you'd better not be puking in my tank, too!!" :-)

Wow! That's some picture. Are there any other pics of the same tank, from different angles? Any clue as to what knocked it out, or where the impact was?
