Hi guys,

As u know, i was away for couple of time (sending my son to the army, next sunday) anyway...
Since i was free, i've decided to make another research in the net about that famous "RAL7021" which is "German Panzer grey".
WOW !!! Every pages say some other thing In fact, i was searching HUMBROL equivalent of RAL7021.
Cos Humbrol 67 always seems to me a bit blueish.
And Humbrol 182 seems more accurate.
(Humbrol is eaily findable here !)

I'd like to know your opinions about that "Panzer Grey" !?
Thanx all from now.

Well, let me be the first to add to this can of worms. From what has been said and I know both humbrol paints are correct aswell the paint from Gunze, Tamiys, and Testors model Master. The reason for this easy no colour chip for Panzer survived the war! So we end up with what mixes that match what the manufacturers took samples of from Photos and existing Tanks wearing PZ Grey. So what is the actual PZ grey who know's it was usually supplied to the field in paste form and had to be thinned with whatever was available. Pick a petroleum product available to the troops, remember certain products had a dye added for recognition. Those dyes would also influence the final colour of the thinned paint. So this means everyone had a different final colour of paint. BTW, TIGER I On the Eastern Front from Histoire & Collections, Show several unit repaint the Tigers every fall and spring. So there could also be several different tone s of paint on tanks depending on the thinning agent. Hope this now clear as mud. If you want more confusion on Panzer Grey ask about its use after 1943. So far only a few example support that claim, but its still hotly contended even here. STUG

Thank you very much for your reply StugIII

Yes, off course i know this difference of colors under different weather conditions, years, factories etc.. U're totally right.
May be i should have asked the question some other way, like "the percentage of 67 users" and the "percentage of the rest" (182 and others).
A base color must exist anyway if u think especially the modelling contests.
Anyway..that means if i start to use 182 now and then, nobody will object :-) (As a base color, before weathering).
Thanx again for your reply
