Hi all

I've got a rather strange problem. I'm building an M-24 Chaffe. So far its been a great kit. Last night I tried to dry fit the top of the hull to the lower half, and not only do they not fit its almost like they came from two different kits. I'm not talking just a grap here or there. If I get one side to line up, the other side will not even be close. I've tried sanding each side trying to square it up. both parts of the hull are square, but will not line up. does anyone have any ideas.

Thanks in advance

Harry, it sounds strange enough to me. I've put together a few of these kits and I never had such a problem. What I can think about is an "injection" problem, in that case I'll suggest to return the kit to the distributor to get a replacement...

I've built both the old and new M24 kits, with no fit problems on either! Sounds as if there's a moulding problem with the kit. Any chance of a pic so that we can see the problem?

Hi all

Thanks for the replys.. I bought the kit at a show last fall so returning it will be difficult. As far as pictures go, I've yet to get my ex to give back my digital cam. along with other things. I'm just going to buy another one.
Thanks
Wolfsix

Perhaps it's a little bit warped? I had a real problem with warpage with the original M24 kit. The top plate had almost a rwo inch bow in it! The new M24 kit was much better.

The fit of the upper hull to the lower hull was a bit finicky, but I was able to get it attached with the help of several hefty rubber bands.

Warpage is one thing...but not being close to fitting sounds like...and it might happen...cross matched kit parts...say from a m-41 bulldog...just a thought

pics would help

I too have two such kits, with no such fit problems!

Sounds like you got a lemon there, unfortunately .

Sorry to insist, but if you're based in the States just drop a line to Testors that's the distributor. Quite likely they'll send you back the new parts or they'll ask you to send them over the kit for replacement. With the distributor it shouldn't matter where or when you bought it...

If you bought it at a show from a swap meet vendor I have to agree with the Glackster. Sounds like you have the upper hull from the wrong kit. I also agree with Fabio. Testors will probably make it right...
Awfully agreeable this afternoon, ain't I...
