this is my first diorama. it's far from finished but I'm well on my way. the right side is becoming a back garden and the left site supposed to be a deserted battlefield with a big crater in the middle and some barbed wire on the side. I have a little bit of experience with scenery building but i still have a lot to learn and I could use some tips on how to make the backgarden look realistic :-) other criticts and tips are welcome to
editor slodder I think this is where the first two images are?

Bummer your image hosting site does not allow 'hot links' to it. I have edited the post to be URL's not 'hot links'

Good start, The crater looks a bit deep and a bit too steep, not much though. The barbed wire is nice, first timers sometimes leave off the barbs, you haven't - Nice job. I would drybrush some highlights on the wire and the posts (aluminum/steel on the wire and light brown/tan on the posts) This will make them more visually appealing and show depth too.
The wall on the right side stops suddenly, if the military had to remove some of it to build the trench then I would add some broken pieces at the end of it. Dont' forget the debris from the middle break too.

hey thanx for the tips! The crater wasn't that steep but It melted away by paint (didn't coat that part):P I'll change it with some plaster. The barbed wire is already painted with brown and grey but it's a low quality picture.
And to janwillen I'm from Wildervank (Veendam) and you?

ps thats the good link! i'll ad some pictures of my previous scenery to.

if youre looking for smal trees you should look in model-trainstores(not so expensive) and if you want large trees you can make them youre self.
Check out roadkills site (yes again) for tips on how to

[imghttps://gallery.kitmaker.net/data/500/46570010.jpg[/img] Here you go. It is going to be a very nice Dio when you finish it. I like the idea that you have going. Are you going to have the house in it also?

dont think that i'm going to put a house on it.. just 2 walls and maybe a shed... but first i have to study for next week... 13 tests i'm still going to school so... see ya next week by the way i'm also working on a very nice waterfall diorama with real running water.. i've already tried the pump out and it works really well... i've sprayed everything black and the paint is now drying. i'll borrow a good digi cam from a friend next week to posts some good quality pics and i already have 1 question but i'll ask it when i have the pics online
