Very Carefully! #:-)

Seriously in front of the trench is some barbed wire that I made.

I used 'sheathing' wire from an old Television 'Cable' wire. It may be similar to old 'Coax' cables.
Slice it open and you have the core wire with some plastic sheathing, then some woven mesh wire that is human hair fine. I cut a bunch of that out then.
1. String one long strand in a 'third hand' tool holding both ends tight.
2. snip short 1/2 inch long pieces to use as bards.
3. I wrapped the short one around the long one and gave the two ends of the short wire a twist.
4. Small drop of CA
5. rinse repease - do it again, and again, and again.
6. wrap the long section around a big dowel.

You may be able to find similar wire inside old computer mouse cable.

I have heard of people using metal mosquito screen to make the wire also the metal patches(for use with putty to fix rust holes) from an automotive parts store. But with the screen you clip the crossing wires on both sides of the strand and it should look like barb wire from what I have been told. Hope this helps. Kevin

I have had good luck with fiberglass window screen. I lay out a 3-4 foot section and using a straightedge and razor slice through the screen leaving minute "barbs" on both sides. Using the gray screen works well since it takes paint and holds it. I have used this rolled up on several OIF vechicles - a HUMMVEE and M1A2 -

Give it a try.

G'day GSPatton, what is this fiberglass window screen, is it the stuff i would call "fly screen", the mesh that goes on windows and some door to keep the nastys out?
cheers

Hey, there is a feature in ArmoramA on using plastic screening for barbed concertina wire.
Look in "Features", AFV section.
