WOW! May have to switch from 1/72 for a bit and get this kit!
It looks awesome! Done well, this will be a masterpiece. The interior sounds great and from the review, OOB this will a fine choice with this one.

That is one very nice kit. I'm glad to see larger models come out. I wish that they would do some modern armor in this scale.

Hey, hey, hey, they are on the way!
Looking good!!!!!!!! I can see what my modeling is going to consist of this summer/fall, and most probably later as well. Just thing I probably won't even need my magnifier. Ha!
And no indy or Rubber band track. What more can we ask!!!!! The Great Spirit is good!
Just wait till the after market boys get a hold on this one!
Take care, Sgirty

After reading the PMMs review .. it looks to be quite perfect straight from the box!
I hope some figure maker gets on the ball and gets a 1/16 crew and tank riders for it. Now thats what Id call a display!

Hi. I see the Great Models website is listing 4 different kits, all at $134.35 each, plus s/h. One of them mentions July 1 as the expected date. This sound about right for deliveries in the states?

Hi. Interesting question.
I do believe Trumpeter took the "Model of the Year" award last year for their K5 German raialway gun kit. And by all indications I would have to say that they most likely are going to be a pretty strong contender for this year's award as well with these T34 kit(s). Anyone like to speculate on what these folks from China have swirling around in the old brain box for next year to top this? Ha, ha!

I picked up the T-34/76 Mod. '42 two weeks ago at the Shizuoka Hobby Show (May 15)...appears to be a brilliant kit as it sits in the box.
I've read on other sites that there are some gripes as to the accuracy of the interior, particularly for the two 76mm turret models, as well as some dimensional troubles for the Mod. '43 turret (I hope the Mod. '42 is OK!). Heck, it looks like a T-34 to me, and a big one at that, so I have no complaints.
Well, maybe one teensy one...I snapped several links of the tracks together (VERY easy assembly!), and although they are well detailed, the gap between each link seems to be too wide as compared to every reference pic I've seen. No big whoop, and they look great anyway, but so far that's the only firsthand criticism I can offer of the kit .

Compared with the Tamiya 1/16 offerings priced about twice as much, its very favorable considering you get a full interiour...!
Wonder who will present the first finished model on this site ?
Btw, it seems bandai is reissueing there old 1/15 series again, wonder what the prices will be considering the amount of rebuilding it takes to make them just a fair scale model ?

Hi. I'm with you Shado1. If it looks like a T-34, it has to be a T-34. People are going to gripe and complain about anything. Besides, that's the main reason there's an aftermarket for add-ons and additions, or changes. Personally, it will be an OOTB for me.
Yes ekaufman, I'd have to say $140 will be about average for it. I did see that Great Models has them pre-odered at $134.45. Plus s/h. This site also said that there would be 4 different models of this kit too. So maybe, as time goes on, and the market gets kind of saturated with them, they will be cheaper, but not at the moment I'm afraid. Newness and all.
I'll get one now, but for another I'll wait and see how the prices go later on. If this kit is anything like it's been cracked up to be, it's going to be setting the armor modeling industry on it's ear. That's for sure. Big scale is going to be the coming thing I do believe, esp. for us oldies who have enough trouble seeing a road wheel in front of our faces, let alone those tiny 1/35 scale accessories! Ha, ha!
Take care, sgirty

$140 sounds pretty good. Mine was 15,000 yen, so at an exchange rate of 110 yen to a US dollar, it was $136.36.
I might throw some more cables and wires into the interior, but other than that, I plan on building it OOB. MAYBE I'd get an AM barrel if one came out in the next six months or so.
Figures would be nice, too...

There's a Tamiya 1/16th German infantry figure with long boots that could be converted, the only problem - apart from removing pockets and collar to make a smock - is the helmet.
Anyone bet that there will be a set of tank riders from Trumpeter or Dragon soon
