Hi all,
I am about to delve into my first Allied (partially) build, I am doing a dio of a ruined building in Arhnem, and I am going to be using Dragon's Red Devils figures in the scene. I notice on the box the colors used to paint the figures are Gunze paints. Where I live, Gunze paints aren't available, so I have to use Tamiya paints. Does anyone know a conversion from Gunze to Tamiya for the colour guides? (what colour for the cammo, basic pant colour, and jacket colour)
Thanks,
Kelly

Kelly, here are the colours that I've used on the para figures that I painted for a manufacturer as well as for my own models:
Smock - dark yellow XF60, with red-brown XF64 and JA green XF13 cammo
Trousers - Khaki XF49
Webbing - either desert yellow XF59 or pale green (green mixed with white)
Beret - Maroon, either mix 3 parts red with one part blue, or I use a Games Workshop 'Citadel' colour called Red Gore.
When these have been given a dark brown wash they are pretty good, the guy I painted for was an ex-Para!
Do you have MS Powerpoint on your computer, if so I have artwork for producing decals for the wings and 'Pegasus' badge, just print out onto blank decal film.

Kelly,
Dave is absolutely spot on with his colors. I used them on a British paratroopers and they are really good !
Would love to see the (in progress) results of your dio !

Hi Guys this is great info! I mostly do the German stuff, so this is going to be a little lesson on Allied builds! Although there will be a partially wrecked semi track in the scene...as far as in progress shots, I don't own a digital camera, I get my photos taken by our club photographer, then he emails them to us. And posting in the forum totally confuses me with all of the wierd coding to use, no matter how much I read the help guide I just don't get it! ha ha I may just have to upload them into the msn site and link it then when it's finished.

Thanks guys...
Dany, I'm in the early stages of the build, so it will be another couple of months yet before I'm done and get pics, but when I get 'em back, I'll send them to ya!
