( sorry for my bad english! )
Hello!
I wonder how to make gunholes in tanks and trucks from different kinds of weapons, as airplanes, stationary machineguns, ordinary machineguns and other "weak-against-vehicle weapons!

I have nearly completed a "Multiple Gun Motor Carriage
M16" from Tamiya, and I want it to look like the crew are fighting against a plane and that the plane has flown over the truck and fired with the machinegun.

Any tips on how i can make thouse gun holes from a lighter plane?

You could use heated needle. Just let the needle glow up a bit then "puncture" the armor. Remeber the angle of the attack - don't try to make uniform spaces in between punctures.

Try this: Drill a tiny hole where you want the hits to be. Take your ex-acto knife with the triangular blade, put it in the hole and gently twist it. The more you twist, the bigger the hole, and the knife edge will give the hits a ragged look. If you angle the blade a little while you twist, you can show the direction of the hit. Here's a look.

Should I paint some kind of silver in and around the holes to make it look more realistic, or what do you think?

Ola

I have a little trick on doing them and this one works really well. Thin down the backside of the place you want the hole to be by sanding it with your motortool. Then when it is thin enough (When you can see the light through it punch it from the outside with an Exacto or another sharpobject. This leaves you with a really natural looking bullet or Shell hit. With Raffled edges etc. Try it looks really good

As for the painting question, I used flat aluminum on the ones on my jeep. I tried silver but it looked too bright.

i agree with using a triangular bladed knife, it gives a ragged and random look, which is what you desire from bullet holes, and depending on the vehicle you can use a little metal coloured paint around the area, where the paint has come away from the vehicle, i found this worked well with my hummer
