Alright, I'm going to finally start my diorama. It's going to have a two story building, something like this:
only grey. Now, on the top story, I'll have some German officers around a table with just some random, generic Russian maps. On the bottom story, I was thinking of having a quatermaster "station", a place with petrol (Or gasoline, as it should be called. :-) ), ammunition boxes, etc. (I unfortunately don't know what the "etc." is...... ) Would having a QM station there be "right"? I'd like to think that is somewhere around '43, the Ukraine.
All around the outside of the building, I'm going to have two Sdkfz. 251/4's (Ammunition Carrier), a 251/1(Infantry Carrier) , a Marder III (Not the "M"), and possibly a Kommeunderwagen.
On the 251/4, I've checked around, and I figure that I'm going to take out the back two seats in the Hanomag, and fill it with some Machine Gun Ammo boxes, two 75 mm AT shell boxes, and maybe some random wood boxes. (I love random )
On the 251/1, I'll have some Wehrmacht infantry just taking a seat, if I can get them to sit on those short, tiny seats.
With the Marder III, I will have some men just lounging around, maybe eating a sausage or sandwich, (Oh, and by the by, how could I make that in 1/35th scale?), maybe sleeping, just waiting for orders. Also, could I have the vehicles from different divisions? You know, after some were annihilated, reformed, but still kept their original division's signs?
What do you guy and gals think? Thanks for your time.

Yeah, I'm doing a 1/35 diorama. Thanks for all the help. Say, how does one do a little table, chairs, charts, etc.? Thanks for your time.

Tables chairs etc. Look at how the chairs look in your own house... Since the invention of the chair and table the principle remained the same just as the shape. And I`m not talking about fancy design chairs and tables. Making the forms out of plastickstock or Balsawood and making seats out of Putty. Same counts for tables. 4 legs, A square frame on wich the tabletop lays and voila.
Maps and other goodies like paintings. Look at this gallery page it should provide you with everything needed:
Roadkills collection of Dio reference.
i hope this is enough for you to go on

MEBM, sounds like it will be a great diorama. The only thing that you may/may not want to consider is the co-location of fuel and ammo. Not sure if this was a major issue in WW2, but now-a-days people get all kinds of bent out of shape if the two are in close proximity to each other. IF you decided to drop the ammo, you might consider replacing it with crates and boxes, vehicle parts, roadwheels. etc. I have a dio in the planning stage now with 3 US vehicles, 15 personnel, a water fountain and 4 buidling fronts.......not to mention all the gear and equipment for the vehicles! I can totally relate to finding the "etc" to fill the space. Looking forward to seeing it when complete. Good luck. "Q"
