I assume that there would have been a standard form for the markings carried by vehicles loaded onto LCTs etc.........unit, LCT Number, position within the LCT etc. We've all seen these chalked or painted on, but how would we make them without a photo to work from......

Also these units were listed as landing in Normandy with M12s (not necessarily on D-day itself):
174th, 258th,557th,558th, 987th, 991st Field Artillery Battalions - any ideas for markings/serials. The Academy kit doesn't identify the units covered by the markings in the kit.

Sorry about all these questions, but I really can't find the answers!
