I normally wait 24 hours..better safe than sorry.
Why not make the whole plane out of the same material the blackbox is made from?

I am with PvtParts. Future is pretty dry within as little as 1 hour, but to be safe, I wait at least 24hrs. before starting to decal. So far, I've had no bad experiences.
