I'm trying to probe the market for aftermarket 1/35 scale tracks for Bundeswehr Marder vehicles. How many of you would buy accurate link and length resin tracks for Marder? They could be used with Tamiya Shuetzenpanzer Marder and Marder 1A2 kits, and also with Revell Marder 1A3 kit. Most likely they could also replace inaccurate resin tracks in Elite models.

Let's estimate that the price would be around 12 GBP / 22 USD / 18 EUR for a set, although this is really just a guess now.

Based on reponse from this and other forums such product may appear or not. And even if it appears, you will still need to wait at least a couple of months for it, so don't expect anything soon.

Cheers,
Pawel

Personal opinion:
I appreciate your effort and I also find the price level adequate but the choice of resin is in my opinion not so good. Too difficult to handle bend and put in place.
I will never buy resin tracks, even if, and I am sure your's will be, the most accurate on the market

I generally agree with you - resin tracks are usually difficult to work with, but if done well (e.g. Accurate Armour and Blast Models) they are not hard to put together. And let's be realistic - there is no way we will ever see injection molded tracks for Marder. HKCW planned such released long time ago, but gave up this idea and I doubt anyone will ever get back to it. The only way they can be done is in resin now.

So I'm afraid the choice is resin or nothing...

Hi Pawel,
well, I haven't tried any resin tracks so far ... but why not? You're right it is very unlikely that we'll ever see a set injection molded and the price seems adequate enough, so ... go ahead ...

Sad days for us, but fortunately we got another Chally II and maybe another update set for the Panther ausf/xyz
but not one thing we are really interisting in.
These are really sad days, in any case I hope and I am sure you will find a lot of customers and resin it is not so expensive to manufacture anyway.
Sincerly good luck
Moreno

p.s. I also appreciate very much your models and website but try once to visit ours www.modellismopiu.it unfortunatly is only in italian

You can also just make them using metal instead of resin. This way if a casting comes out badly you can throw it back into the pot and reuse the metal. Resin casting, particularly on small parts, is very unforgiving of any errors in the casting process. Plus with metal you don't have to worry about mixing ratios. While it might cost a little more to purchase metal ingots in the longrun it might make it worth it. Just something to consider.

If those tracks will be produced I will not produce them myself and those who would do that, work with resin. I may be involved in creating masters for them.
