I was thinking of making a "split time" period vinette. Meaning half the vinette is in the past and the other half would be in the present.
So my question to you guys is, how feasible would this idea be for a vinette? I hope youguys understand what I am trying to say.

I think it is an excellent idea. Check out the Missing Link website, the Constructive Comments Discussion section, as there is an outstanding diorama there titled something like: "Grandpa, what did you do during the war".

I also have been looking into constructing a dio of this type, I have a few twists to it though Its going to be a shadow box with a t 34 up on a pedestal, you'll see the city lights in the background in the foreground will stand an old man and a child facing away with the older feloow point up at the tank explaining what it used to be like "back in his day" its a night setting and using some one way mirrors ala shep paine , there will be ghost tank riders. Its still in the planning stages but I really want to do this one. Cheers Kevin

Wolf, definitely a great idea. After seeing the wonderful diorama at ML, I'm inspired. Now if I can just cultivate the talent to match the images running through my head...

I am working on something similar... with the idea taken from the "After The Battle" magazine... this magazine shows photos taken during WWII, and then compares it to a photo taken "today", from the same spot and perspective.
I am doing a road scene from the Battle of the Bulge, featuring the seige of Bastonge. I'm doing it on a swivel base "lazy susan" and as you spin it to one side, you see "Then"... rotate it , and you see the current view...
