Hi all
Well here it is: the reason why my dioramas just won't finish; I'm working on a little vignette of Vietnam Fire Support Base 'Veghel' . The Vietnam veterean my wife is writing with, will be on there (he served at FSB Veghel) and the vignette is meant for him .
It's far from finished but some pictures of it so far can be seen here:

any tips or comments are welcome

I like it. I like the way the FSB is ascew to the base. The ground work is very convicing and authentic. I like the gear scattered about.
One question, would the 55gal drums be that close to the FSB?
Don't forget that the red soil get Everywhere, especially after rain.

Thanks Scott,
I guess you're right about the drums; I'll change those for something else. And I'll make sure to give evrything a good pastel-treatment when all is finished.
And Engin, thanks and I'll post some pics of the finished thing here.

Thanks a lot
Mark

p.s. it looks more like a diorama, maybe thats just the size of it

55 gal drums were sometime filled with sand for barriers and we also concocted a Foo Gas which is a poor mans napalm. We would mix diesel fuel, detergent and old motor oil with a little C-4 for good measures for the final line of defense. You could display your barrels in one of these ways if you want.

Awesome, but could be messier :-) Check out this pic of Khe Sanh Add some paper and more trash on the ground. Still, it looks really good so far. Keep it up man. I love Nam dios.

I was going to use this idea, but don't know if I'll ever get around to making it, so I figured I'd toss it out there to you guys. I don't know if this will work in yours since it looks like your guys are gonna be chillin' around a cooler, but thought it would be an awesome idea for a dio.
