Hi all!
I've made some progresses on my dio. Per suggestions I repainted the street ( not quite so pink), and made the italian troop helmets more gray.
These last pics were taken under a flourescent light, so effect is a bit different..
Along the fountain edge i plan on adding a pair of boots and a rifle. Also needed are straps on ammo boxes and the MG, some detail work on the figures ( helmet decals on order) and some gaps and cracks to fill.
I'd like to find a figure to add.. a nun, looking at the Italian officer and pointing at the German in the fountain. May have to try my hand at a scratchbuild fig.
Comments, critique welcome.. thanks ps- more pics in my gallery under south europe dio

This is a really neat piece of work. What's the story behind it, what's the German doing in the fountain?

DaveCox:
The german biker is just cooling his heels. He doesnt live there so it doesnt matter to him that his skunky old feet are in the fountain + who can honestly say that they havent thought about jumping into a fountain just once?!!!
I think if i can add that nun figure chastising him it will tie the scene together.. ?..

This has come a long way since I saw it last. Great progess.

One thought is to add a few drops of future on the edge of the fountain and near the edge on the street as splashes from the bather.

Here's a nit pick - would the bucket be that far down the spout? If the villagers use it as a drinking water source, they would use the spout of course, but it may make more sence to have the bucket on the edge of the fountain.

You mentioned gap filling so you already know this - the one that jumps out at me is the one at the base of the middle wall.

I like the photo editing. One thing you can try is to give it a brown tone (sepa tone I think is what its called). Kinda like B&W with browns. That would make it look like it came out of a scrap book.

The road has come out very well, I like the greenery on it. The stories that are evolving are great. VP has a nun figure if you can find it. The washing on the fountain is very good.

This is a great diorama.

Thanks for the comments! The greenery is nylon fiber and ground foam.. standard woodland scenics. I see the point about the bucket ; i rusted the inside of it, so i doubt it would be used for any type of drinking water, but its not easy to get to where it is.. I might put a big dent in it and move it closer to the column representing a discarded bucket just left there.
Havent checked that company yet for civilians, so Ill give that a shot.. seeya

Great to see this one again!! Excellent work you did to it. I also love the editting you did to the pictures.

That foliage, how did you do that ? Is it foam ? It looks so natural, specially on the roof. Excellent.

My final question is about the roof tiles....... how... they look smashing.... I've been trying to build these, but I'm not happy with my try outs either.... The tiles on your roof look exactly like the ones I need, so if there is a secret...please share

Eagle - the secret to Kancali's roof tiles are thier own home grown tiles.

I did a review on thier road products and used them in my RMG dio - Great stuff.
