Santiago Tre (csago) has been working on this Vietnam river boat diorama for 5 years (on and off). It certainly shows! A very unique and inspiring diorama.

Everything about the water is just astounding. Color, gentle waves, splash, wake. A tutorial on that would surely be appreciated my many. Amazing work all over.

Great diorama !!!
I've got one dragon kit like it but I didn't make it yet.
Can you tell me how to paint the SEAL's uniform. I've been searching for one image for ages but I found nothing.
I think it's one of the best dioramas. Why don't you show us how to build it step by step.
Thank you very much,
Sensei

Over all I am truly impressed, it is excellant work. I must agree with the others and I will express the desire to know how you accomplished the "water work". What products did you use? You really should do an artical about it's construction. The only critisim I may have, not knowing the subject well, I would think there would be some rope for the ties. Great choice of "vegitation" as the textures are well suited for the subject. The reeds are most convincing, I hope to see more of your work in the future. Job well done!

we simply must have a tutorial on the water technique. It looks great! The figrues are awesome and the environment just really brings it all home. Absolutely a great diorama!

Thanks to all, I´m very glad to see you like my diorama.

The river is clear poliester resin (named "cronolita" in Spain, something similar to envirotex), layer after layer (no more than 3-5 mm each time), with some drops of brown paint (oils or better tamiya acrilics), less paint each time, and the last layer without paint; just before it cured, make the little waves with a stick or metalic rod (try apart from your dio for practising).

The foam is just acrilic artist gel (heavy gloss) from a US Cía named Golden Artists Colours Inc., layer after layer, picking each time for the jumping drops.....

I´ll try to make some kind of article about the "jungle"...ç

Thanks¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

Oh well, I already posted about this twice, might as well do it a third :-) Masterpiece! Nuff said. Trungtin2010, go to the figure forum for the Seal painting technique. I happened to start a threat a few days ago about it myself.

Excellent diorama !!

The water and foliage are probably among the best I have ever seen in a diorama.

This was a true pleasure to look at ! Hope to see more things of equal quality over here....these sort of things always boost my inspiration and motivation !

Nothing short of absolutely amazing!! One of the most realistic Dio's I've ever seen. Any how-to's would be greatly appreciated.

This has got to be the coolest Vietnam War diorama I've seen quite a while. I posted on this before, but every time I see this diorama, I see something else even more intertesting.

Well done, and FANTASTIC work !!

Cheers !!!

Howdy csago,

As has been said, all of the ingredients in you dio are splendid! Truly inspiring attention to detail. You obviously....'felt'...each and every one of it's measures.
'Impressed' is all I can say at the moment.
But, in an attempt to not be the 'umpteenth' voice here....your talent really shines with your minipulation of the surrounding water. Obviously your 'internal' visual skills are highly attuned, as is your visual 'memory'. I have the feeling (because I don't want to speak for any one else), that most of us are seeing that your water just 'feels' right.
Good on ya csago!...Bueno!

Also, before I sign-off. What i think everyone is kindly requesting from you is a written 'tech' article regarding your application of your 'water' treatment. I don't think I'm going out on a very long limb here when I say, you would be making a very large crowd of fans happy by recreating a small example of your magnificent 'water' work by doing it again, and taking pictures as you go. Many of us would be elevated by your taking the time to do so......

Tread.

Please excuse my 'forwardness', but my believe is, you do not know, unless you simply 'ask'........
