There were some new photos published of Tamiya new JGSDF LAV kit (35275, released today in Japan). I've never shown any interest in Japanese armor , but boy thins thing looks cool! And those figures are also great!

Die cast bottom hull:

Separate figure set (to be released next month):

How do you think, could those guys be used for US Army soldiers or is their gear completely different from what Americans use (or used)?

One addition: Tamiya is releasing a new paint for the LAV kit: XF-74 (acrylic bottle) and TS-70 (spray). I'm not sure how they call this color, but it is some kind of olive drab.

Cool!! Die casts hull? Nice addition! Also the figures looks very much like resin!

die cast hull ,rubber tires and nice detailed plastic.i think this is the best kit Tamiya ever released.Figures also look very good as latest Tamiya figure kits. Body armors not look the same as IBA but hard to make comments on those photos ,we will see as we get the figures at hand.at least they look tall enough to use as USA soldiers .
thanks for photos Pawel

Does anyone know of any good on-line reference photos of this cool vehicle...? Preferably serving in Iraq and all weathered and beat up!

Thanks!

Kinda a cross between JP and Road Warrior. Might get one depending on price.

Johnny,

Please check my review of this model: https://armorama.kitmaker.net/review/435. At the end of review are links to two websites with walkaround photos of early production JGSDF LAV.

Heya, Pawel,

Thanks a bunch for the references...great detail shots! Can't wait until they release the kit here in the States!!

And it looks like it will be a pretty fast build --- that will make a nice change!!
