At the moment I have a predicament. I have a diorama in planning to go with my Academy M10 Achilles. I want to have the Achilles either;
1)Driving along a Normandy road or raised embankment past combat or troop activity.
2)Driving past a group of British Para's walking along the side of the road or German POW's being escorted somewhere.
3)Stopped for a break (cigarette or food/drink)
4)Stopped to refuel/resupply.
I cant decide on a setting or the types of troop models to include so I was wondering if any of you guys could help me. If anyone could suggest the models to use and the best setting I'd be really grateful.

Make them all
That should keep you bussy for a while :-)
Hehehe
I think you should go for that with the POW.

there are A LOT of models out there you could use for Normandy landings, but it seeems you already have those figured out, am i correct? british paras, german soldiers, tank crew.....
how about this, i bet after the landings they were tryin to reenforce some of those paras behind the lines
how about do a quick map break thing, like a commander leaning out of the tank "asking" a footsoldier or M.P. where to go... i doubt that if it just got off the beach (or anywhere in normandy) it would need a fuel supply, it just got there! and i think they wouldnt be worried about a smoke break if they were trying to get to the front or combat zone.
if you dont like that suggestion, have them driving through a small town w/ french citizens waving happily at them.....LIBERATION! lol
well, let me know if you need any more suggestions, and get me some of those progress pics asap
good luck

I was thinking more along the lines of the battling around Caen after the landings, maybe D-day +12 to accomodate the smoke break (long hours of fighting) or the refueling (long hours in the field require supplies). Cheers for those suggestions though Shane. I'll try to remember to take photo's once I order the right models and start on the building.

Wezz, although I would like to make all the proposed ideas I had, and yes, it really WOULD keep me occupied, maybe for the rest of my life, but I wouldn't be able to get all the money! Resin models and tanks with aftermarket parts cost a lot of money, and me being a teenager without a job (not for long) I can't afford to buy most things I want!

Any could be interesting.... perhaps combine two? For example, you could have the vehicle going in one direction, with the crew parked for a break, and some brit para's marching some POW's back in the other direction...

That's an interesting idea KF, but impossible on my budget. As I said I dont get much money at the moment, what with not having a job, and resin figures cost a lot of money that I dont have. Ah well. Maybe I could do another diorama using two of those ideas with another tank, possibly even the other way round, a German panzer with injured SS or Wehrmacht walking back from the front lines.
