hey guys,, i know this may sound dumb
but i would like to know the drifence,
is between model masterbrush cleaner,
and model master air brush thinner.
the reason is. because i been useing the
brush cleaner to do washes,
and i put 2 coats of future and let it dry over night,
and when i did the wash the paint lifted.
this never happned me to before,
may be i did not put enough future in the one spot.
it only happned in one spot.
so now it will be safer to use the air brush thinner,
instead of the brush cleaner.
is the air brush thinner less power full.
the way it reacts wit hthe paint thanks guys

Hello Tazz:

While I am no expert, I do use both the thinner and cleaner with my Aztec airbrush and MM acrylic paints. The way I understand it, the thinner is used to thin the paint for spraying (which is how I use it). I only use the cleaner to soak my Aztek nozzles in after I have a spraying session (I run cheap off brand Windex through the brush to clean it out after spraying). It works great cleaning them up so i assume it is significantly stronger than the thinner. Testors has also come out with a new product that I have bought but not yet tried: a MM Acryl Concentrate in the same size bottle as the other two. You use it undiluted in place of the cleaner and diluted with water in place of the thinner.

For washes, have you considered trying oils? That way you have dissimilar products and should not have any worries about acrylic thinner/cleaner lifting the paint or the future (which I believe is an acrylic product?) off the model.

Tazz,I have had that MM acrylic cleaner lift off enamel paint before For the wash I use watercolors
I mix in one drop of dishwashing detergent to 1/2 inch blob of watercolor Then mix in a little water
If you mess it up,water will clean it up easily and then you just start over
