Ive played around with the position of the figures I think I will leave as they are know . Since my last progress pic Ihave added paratroopers from CMK I have only one built. I feel I still need more ground work what do yaw think anyway here are the pics.

hey pfc, first things first!
nice job, looking realy good so far maybe a tittle liek breakdown could be neat
and for the groundwork, maybe having a browner, dirt road would look good and have some tracks on it, unless the truck got droped in its place by aliens, maybe add fotsteps also
and i love that stream, realy, realy nice! how did you it? did you think of adding a 1/35 fish? lol just joking btu having one or 2 trees would be nice how bout that

I'd add some more tracks to the road to make it look like it has been traveled upon. I like the white color of it though, but maybe a little bit of brown on it would be nice. Maybe have where it looks like some trucks have been running on it that just came off of a muddy road, or add a dirty shoulder to it. Also, the figures and the dog look a little bit too shinny (maybe the camera). If it’s not the camera you may want to tone them down a bit. More dirt on the grass would be a plus. Don't overdo it though, it still looks good as is I think, just needs a few bare spots. A tree and maybe a little foot bridge across the stream would add some volume and height to it. Also, some field grass and some cattails would really set this off I think. BTW, I really like the stream. I just had an idea that you might use to add to the story. What if you had a German soldier (scout) crawling along the stream about to ambush them? You could set the dog up to where he’s about to spot him down in the stream.

absolutly have to agree with what the seargent said! having a few germans about to ambush would be perfect, check out soem tamiya kits, the frontline soldier kit would have sme god figures for it, but then you'd have to add bushes besides the stream, check out the nazy seals dio feature on teh diorama section to see what i mean, it would be crazy! and if you do ad germans about to ambush, check out sam garcias dio of iwo jima, the way he darkened the bottom of the soldiers pants because there wet, use that and it will look splendid! and have a few weapons around the truck so they dont look unarmed

I have a nice idea for you, I am a car mechanic and I know it sucks to get under a car when there is not concrete, so how about you make the guy on top of a dirty banket or something, I feel bad for him

also the mud on the truck's wheels looks too dark comparing it with the one in on the road, it looks more like the one from the stream, or are you trying to make a road with gravel on it?

if you are not done with the ground work on the road then I suggest you make some tracks on it. also you can make the road higher in the middle where niether tracks nor wheels would be, and put some weeds on it.

I agree with most of the ideas already wroten, your truck weathering and road color are definately not from "same place"

Fix it a bit and it will be okay

Also your truck is too empty, maybe add a few ammo boxes , jerry cans, food ration packs... or sumting like that would add a "life" to the back of a truck (and would also add a 'reason' for few german soldiers ambushing, if u choose that too)

cheers

Coming along nicely PFC. The previous answers all hit on the same thing ... the colour of the road. No matter what colour you use, it will work, if you blend the truck weathering to it and then the greenery is too much of a contrast ... un-natural. Needs some blending in as well. The figures will suit even better when painted. the idea of a load is another good one. The base itself seems a little too large for one truck. There is a lot of dead space behind and in front of the truck. I would suggest something else .. like a willys jeep that was called out with the mechanics or the like. It will fill up the dead space and add another dimension. As everything is running in a straight line ... the river, the road, the truck, the base, the fence, ...... try and park the vehicles at natural angles to break this up. Also, you could have some figures making the most of the stream to give all the ground work a reason to be included! It appears at the moment like an architectural display its so perfectly laid out! Thats the last thing you need when trying to make a natural looking scene! Good luck

hey pfc, i dreamed of your dio last nigth and made me think things out... you definetly need more weeds to the side of the stream, its a must, its rare youl find a stream with only a bush besides it, trust me! and also adding germans about to ambush would also give life to the diorama, it would look more liek a movie than a picture, if you see what i mean, check out that russian diorama put on armorama not long ago and check out ther germans, youl see what i mean

Frank,
and adding jerrrycans and all is a good idea, adn what dragonslain said about the leveling and weeds is perfect, i dont think many ww2 country roads looked so good going up north everysummer and seeing how trails in the woods are, dragonslain is definetly right!

I really thank all you guys for youre ideas and telling what to correct. Im trying to take my time with this I just hit a blank spot and needed a little help. I will use some of the ideas yaw have mentioned. I have fuel barels.jerry cans.and ammo boxes to add to the truck there is alot of stuff I have not added this is far from over. I think I will make the road dirt instead of gravel. How should I go about this road with tracks and all in it.
