I got this pic while using www.alltheweb.com Great search engine because it has a picture option It is an M4A1E8 Sherman It's interesting to see that it has the u shaped brackets that tie into the hull and hullside extensions They are normally on the M4A3E8 The A1E8's normally had a round shape instead of the u shape

Great link, thanks Also, did ya'll notice that the hull side extensions don't have the boltholes for the sandshields? I wonder if whoever owns this Sherman got it with the hull extensions missing and made thier own

The round braces (actually turnbuckles), P/N 7068564/7068565, appear to be standard for M4A1s from the git-go until obsoletion - they're the only type listed in the 1945 and 1953 parts manuals. (I'm guessing the irregular hull shape prevented easy fit-up with fixed length braces.) The channel brace, P/N 7066733, only appears on welded hull parts lists. Both used the same fasteners to attach to the fenders and hull, so I'm sure they could be interchanged without too much work.

Cool pic. Your pic is far more clearer then the ones on that Webshots link. Do you have more ?
The M4A1E8 in your pic looks like a runner ? The pics from Ft Polk appear to be a static M4A1E8. Are all these pics the same M4A1E8 ?
Thanks !
Cheers !!
