I would like to build a collection of the Jeep using in the Vietnam war in 1/35 scale. I get some information about the Willys MB, chinese BJ212A, M38A1, M151A2 and A2 but incomplete. Could some one help me to get more information about these little 4x4 utility trucks even the NVA trucks? Thank you.

Here's ya a link to a good M38A1 site. Also, if any of you guys build a lot of Vietnam models, or are just interested about that era, please stop by the new Nam Modelers Forums I got up. The more people we get the more help we can be to one another.

Do a search for a thread called 'Jeep!' in this forum - I posted pics of the Mitsubishi CJ3 kit a while back and someone (gunny??) is doing a conversion using M38 running gear.
There should be a write-up Real Soon Now.

Ahhh yes - that would be me and yes - I am building the Mitsubishi CJ3B-J4A into a more accurate representation of the Jeep used in Vietnam by using the Skybow parts...

Soon...

Hi Acav! Thank you for your reply about the Jeep CJ3B.

Hi GunTruck,
I am waiting for your conversion AFV Club M38 to the CJ3B jeep. By the way, I can order this Okuno CJ3 without hesitation.
I just visited your website, your stuffs impressed me... Thank you.

Heller made a kit of the Willlys MB-style jeep built under licence in France by Hotchkiss. It has different axles and a few other details changed.

Here's a link for info pages and lots more on MBs, CJ-3s, etc. : http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/jeep_man/HOMEPAGE.HTm

Hi Bob,
Thank you for your advice, that's all right, I know that Heller released a 1/35 scale Jeep Willys with trailer (Heller #81105), following some advices from my friends that I'd better bought the Italeri jeep but now, after your opinion and visiting many Hotchkiss M201 websites, I will get out one at my hobbyshop. Thank you again.

Francois - thank you for the compliments! Yes - go ahead and purchase the Okuno CJ3B - it is a nicely cast model kit. It is quite reminiscent of a Skybow effort to produce the M38 Willys MC Jeep - that never reached production. I'm working on that conversion too. I'll send you advance photos of my CJ3B-J4A project - if you send me your e-mail address.

Francois - I got your e-mail address and will be sending you some pics later on this afternoon. Here's four pics of my Mitsubishi CJ3B-J4A Project so far. I've got some minor details to fit and a little bit of cleanup afterwards - but I'm pretty close to painting at this stage.

Hi Gunnie,
Wonderful ! I am open-mouthed in front of these pictures.
I see that you must do some scratchbuildings to modify the CJ3B body and the M38A1frame... and the headlights... A hell of a jeep!
I can not stop looking for this finished jeep!
