What do you mean by rubberised horse hair? If it just normal, ordinary horse hair go to your closest stable and you will find all of the horse hair you need. Just wash it up before you use it.

Hope that helps...

Wait! Wait!

Rubberized horse-hair is exactly that. I have regular horsehair and rubberized. 40 years ago it was used to stuff sofas and stiffed chairs.

I can give you two sources. 4D Modelshop in London has it. Also, I traded some USA beef jerky to a Dutch soldier for some rubberized horsehair that they wrap around their artillery shells.

The rubberized horsehair looks just like the bocage undergrowth of France. You can't replicate it with anything else I have seen. That darn book is so great that I have had to scrouge a number of things they mention, that you can't get in the USA, like silver birch catkin tree seeds to use as leaves (see my "Super-Tree" article), flex-i-bark, and some other items, like the rubberized horse-hair.

Good luck. The folks at 4D have a lot of great stuff for modelers, including brass stencils now.

If you get your hands on a lot of it from what's wrapped around artilery shells or whatnot, I'll buy some off you.

Is this the right stuff? If so I'll buy at mat or two because I have been looking for rubberized horse hair myself.

There's some guy out east that will sell a roll of it. I think it is one or two inches thick, maybe 24" wide and 30 or something feet long. But, it was a lot of money and looked like too much trouble to buy it and resell parts to other serious terrain modelers.

Let me see if I can find my notes on who had it in the U.S. But, it was a lot of material and a lot of money.
