Since my mom is going to Bangkok, I have decided to get the airbrush. I found a list of Tamiya outlets in Bangkok + the addresses so I am going to go in for a Tamiya product. I want to get the air compressor + airbrush in 1 package.
Check this out please.

Not many details are given so I thought that you guys would know - What will the price be like? That is not mentioned anywhere.
Does this look good or is there anything better?
Cheers & thanks in advance,
WD.

Basic Air Compressor with Airbrush Tamiya 74520 :

Price:

http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?TAM74520
http://www.luckymodel.com/default.aspx?catalog_no=29

Hope this helps.

Comment : I don't use this airbrush so I can't give you my comments, but with the price of Tamiya Basic Airbrush # 100 USD, you have many other choice as Badger, Aztek, etc. (30 USD to 55 USD) then buy a little air compressor "Made in India", I think it is cheaper (I have one electric compressor with a 25 liters air tank + regulator). In the other topic you posted, there are many good comments of the Armorama modellers in the airbrush.

Hi there again WD!

I looked at the link you supplied and to my surprise the compressor is battery opperated!!

I first thought that the compressor was hooked up to the household electricity, but it is not. The battery pack is not an additional power supply, it is the only power supply. If you get it make sure you get a pile of batteries too, since one battery, according to the site, runs only 30 minutes. If it wasn't for the battery thing, it sounds like a good setup, but my advice is: I wouldn't go that route if I were you.

If you do choose to go this route remember that the battery is not included in the setup from the begining. You have to buy that separately. That means you have to buy a recharger for the battery pack too. You will want a quick recharger since most rechargers take upto 4 hours to charge a battery. Not fun to wait hours for 30 minutes spray time.

I'm sure Bangkok and other suppliers too. Everything depends on how much your Mom is willing to hassle with this purchase...

Good hunting...
