Here are some photos of my latest build. It is the new Trumpeter M1 Panther II mine clearing tank. I built it according to the modifications listed over at Perth Military Modeling Society website to accurize it into an M1IP hull. Here is the review at PMMS. I also added a driver's compartment left over from a Dragon M1 kit.

I saw this vehicle over in Iraq, north of Karbala, when I was in 3ID during the invasion and didn't know what it was. Now I know. I plan on mounting it on a base with a map of Iraq under it and a plaque identifying it. Without further adu, the model:

Sorry about the poor photos, still working with a cheap, snapshot digtal camera.

Check me if I'm wrong here, but I thought the Panther II was remotely operated.. a big old RC toy?

It can be either operated by a crew of 2, or by remote. Usually, the crew drives it until they reach the minefield, then dismount and remote it for the actual clearing operation. The one I saw had the crewmember in the commander's cupola as I did in the model.

I just finished this model as well. It was an easy build. I did the same version with the plough. Nice job! The base idea sounds cool. Please send some pics once its mounted.
