You got yourself one fine model. May I suggest that you review the article on texturing at the home page. Also, read the tread on cables and tie downs for ideas. Lastly, look at the fine work in the Photo Gallery section. You'll love it,, great model with lots of possibilities.
Good Luck!

Question:
Did Tamiya finally block out the under the hull voids? Or does the modeler still need to add sheet plastic to block it out?

You still have to block it out.

Sancho, one of the best and somewhat easiest ways to achieve weathering effects is through washes, drybrushing and pastel dusting.

I enjoyed building it. Especially as my first tank model.

BC--I started a thread on the Crusader Mark II. Amazingly, I received only one reply. I assume the Italeri kit is/was not a popular one. I could not find the kit locally.
Do you have anything on it. Perth Modelers have it on their site.
thanks

Tamiya Shermans are fine kits. The M4A3 was the first Tank I built after getting back into AFV modeling,I enjoyed it.Also built the early M-4.lots of parts from the M4A3 but also some nice new ones.I choose a sort of faded OD for the early sherman.
