I'm trying to determine what brand/type of paint to use for my first bare metal finish attempt. (P-51D) I have heard mixed reviews of various brands. i.e. Testors Metalizers, SNJ, etc. I Kinda want to get all of your opinions. I usually use all acrylics, but am open to try something else if need be...so what do you guys like to use???
Thanks

I have used Alclad II, SNJ, and MM Metalizers. IMHO I think the best metal surface is produced by Alclad II, but for easy application and clean up I prefer MM Metalizers (Buffable). I continue to use both and kind both on hand. I don't use SNJ anymore for two reasons, it requies more buffing and MLHS no longer carrys it.
I think for the price per finish MM Metalizers are the best of the three. My Opinion.
P.S. - I even tried Metal foil once or twice, like Holfast is using on his P-51, but my nerves could take it.
