Those indy link tracks are a pain and by far the most intimidating part of the project. The idea of spending all day to build tracks that only look marginally OK is not something I looked forward to. Nevertheless I did it 7 times.
5 DML M4A4 Fireflies, 1 DML M4A4 75mm and 1 DML M4 Hybrid.

Just beware guys when you order aftermarket tracks for the older DML M4A4 kits. Except for the newest Firefly (can't remember kit number) the hull is too long. Make sure that when you get AM tracks that you get enough link to links to accomdate the extra length. I'm sure they give you enough extras but better ask to make sure. Same goes for rubberbands. I don't think the AFV Club M4A4 T49 rubberbands fit the older M4A4 kits, just the new Firefly.
I don't want any of you guys to get caught short (LOL)! Just be aware when ordering that this problem may exist.

Howdy fellas,
First!.....I want to take the opportunity to say a BIG "thumbs-up!" to our good member Tigeriv. Not only has he been patient listening to all of this 'Sherman' banter, but the good lad has had the courage to step up to the plate and plunk his hard-earned sheckles down for a true-blue SHERMAN kit!.......I think the gentleman deserve's some 'kudo's' guys....
Bloody good on ya Tigeriv.
Now. That you've done the dastardly deed......
From what our informed ShermiesRule says, the 'indy' tracks' are a real bear!(pardon the pun thebear) So fellas, this look's like a prime opportunity for 'Murphy's Law' to place a foul taste in the mouth of someone who is 'reaching out' to the Allied side of modeling by building a Sherman kit, and will be having a tough time of the tracks............
Is there any 'easier' solution? Is there a company or a brand name of AM or manufactured tracks that we can point him at??????
I just think his effort, is worth our effort.
Believe me, if I had the answer, I'd share it. Unfortunately I don't. So I'm counting on the generousity of my compadre's here at the big 'A'.....
Tread.
Think.....we have a german armour dude, who's at least willing to spend some time in the 'other' camp.....

There have been 3 versions of DML/Dragon Fireflies. The first two have the incorrect hull, while the latest has the correct hull.
One more thing that gets a little confusing. Because of the multibank engines (4 Chrysler engines connected together), the M4A4 was longer than the M4, M4A1 with it's radial engine, M4A2 with the diesel engine, and the M4A3 with the Ford engine. However the first two DML/Dragon FIrefly kits, DML M4A4, DML M4A4 w60lb rockets all had hulls that were too long.
I have no experience with AM tracks except for the T49 3bar cleat rubberbands from AFV Club. Please note there are TWO style T49 rubberbands, the M4 and M4A4. Of course the Firefly will use the M4A4. I am not sure if the M4A4 rubberband will fit the older incorrect longer Firefly model.
Did you get that?
You know I just might have to build my Tiger. If Tigeriv can take a crack at a Shermie it wouldn't kill me to build my Tiger.
