I'll be able to check this for you this evening. But maybe someone will provide the answer earlier.

Each of two Rotzler built winches installed on Franziska has a pulling power of 18.6 tons.

Hi Pawel,

Thanks for the answer. 18.6 tons ?? Which means a combined capacity of 37,2 tons ??
Would this be enough to get a Leo over the ramp and on the flatbed ?

cheers,
Marc

And that's the idea I was planning on building the Slt-56 hauling a broken down tank onto it's flatbed.

Cheers,

Hi Marc

Bear in mind that the winch capacity needs to match the tank's full weight only if it is pulling it up a 90° incline. To pull it up the slighly inclined loading ramp requires much less force.

Cheers

Yes, it is enough. After all those winches do not to lift the tank, just pull it. And to pull a tank on a trailer, its wheels and tracks must be on "neutral" and rotate freely. If wheels or tracks are locked, by malfunctioned brakes for example, then it would probably not be possible to pull the tank using just winches. I guess that it would have to be put on the trailer by a pair of Bergepanzers.

Thanks guys for the answers. It sounds logical
I do have one last question; I they want to pull a dead (boken down engine) tank on the flatbed would they need one or both of the winches ?

Thanks in advance,
Marc

Hi, a dead tank (without engine or tracks) is pulled by a Bergepanzer 2or 3 (Bûffel) on the trailer.
I'ved see that during Open Days in Germany.
