Well, just to let all those out there who may be looking forward to buying the new Alan kit for a definitive model of the unusual Bison I self propelled artillery vehicle - don't build your hopes up. I am building that kit up right now,

and to say it is lacking, in my humble opinion, is a very "generous" description. If you go to the above link to Planet Armor you can see my progress.
I was disappointed before, during the build up of the Bison, but after opening the box of my recent purchase of a DML Panzer I/B, I broke out into a cold sweat after seeing how much better it is! The Dragon kit's chassis is sooo much better in design and detail than the poor Alan offering. This kit looks to be, (in a "out of the box, first look" kinda way that is ) a real winner,.. Good job Dragon!
I don't mean to heap abuse on the Alan company - just giving my opinion on the Bison I kit. Maybe Dragon can give us the s.I.G. gun and the Bison I as well? One can dream....

Thanks for the build review. It is always good to see what to expect from a kit. You have done a fantastic job on fixing the problems with the Alan kit.
I picked up my Alan Bison 1 kit two kit about ten days ago and am glad I didn't dive right into it as I had two Crusader kits on the table to finish. Once those are finished I will start on the Alan Bison.
I agree with you about the DML Pz1b kit. Beautiful! Strangely, my Pz1b kit had two lower hulls. I haven't had time to check dimensions yet, but I am going to see if I can use the DML lower hull for the Bison 1. I have checked the Alan Bison lower hull against the Italeri Pz1b lower hull and they are almost identical.
I wouldn't be suprised to see DML release a Bison 1 in the future. They have already announced the release of the Pz1b Command Tank for August of this year.
