Actually I started preshading a German Tiger today. Since Tigeriv was willing to switch over and give building a Sherman Firefly a shot, I decided to go for my 10-years-in-the-stash Tiger. Looks like a million road wheels to paint. Anyway I figure it will take me a few weeks to do the Tiger.

The stash is down to two kits.

Well enjoy the build. A change now and then is good. The Shermans need targets (or to be targets). Who knows you may change your name to Tigerrules! Welcome to the Dark side Alan.

Well, Shermie- If the Withdrawal symptoms start getting to ya, I've got a Tamiya M4A3 (complete kit, sans box) I could send you to help out...
Especially if you've got an M113 you'd be willing to part with- need one for the 'Bucket' Campaign...

It will be no problem getting more Shermies... just poor logistical planning on my part that left me high and dry. I too plan on doing the Bucket Bonanza so I need my M113s. For the Ardennes Offensive I have a secret weapon being researched right now that might not even pertain to a Shermie!!!

Well, you could make the TIger stuck in trap, soon to be attacked by some US Infantry......For all we know, they could have been riding on a Sherman, thus, your diorama is still Sherman-related! Thanks for your time.

2 models in your stash....MY GOD I haven't been that low since....well.....uhhhhh......maybe when I was a kid and the folks only let me buy one model at a time. Haven't hit 100 yet, but I'm slowly but surely creeping that way.

I have had good discipline in the model stash department. But then I crack them out fairly quickly so I can usually build a kit as soon as it comes home.

As for the Tiger I am building, So far it is going slow. It's a lot different than a Shermie because the upper hull is in 5 pieces (4 sides and a top) instead of a single piece like the Shermans. My kit may have been sitting on the shelf a little too long because some of the sides are warped with required strategic use of CA and Quick Grip clamps to square off. That endless line road wheels is beginning to scare me. I think I will build the rest of the Tiger, paint the primary colors before tackling the road wheels. Took a quick look at the hull I tried to square up last night and it looks good but I won't be able to get to it until after work.

Holy Batman & Robin!!

Our good ShermiesRule is out of Sherman's!?!...........and, worst than that, he's building a TIGER????....... ...................say it isnt soooooooooooooo......

{said in my best Marlon Brando impersonation}

"...oh, the horror......the horror......"

Tread.

Hey Hollowpoint!!........I think we may have lost one to the 'Dark Side'...........you know how hard it is to 'reel-em-back-in' once they've gone 'grau'........;-)

i wouldnt worry tread,

once he's built the ridiculously over complicated suspension system, and painted all those roadwheel tyres, he will soon be craving the blissful simplicity and technological superiority of allied armour once more! :-)

and ill bet a squadron of shermans on it!

cheers

Call it an Officer's Exchange Program with Tigeriv (he's building a Sherman Firefly) but in reality I'm just making a reconnaisance mission to the Dark Side. Best to know one's enemy!

Well guess what! I found another Sherman. I accidentally put a full Italeri Marine M4 box in the pile of empty boxes. This was the Sherman I was reserving for the "One of our tanks is better than 10 of yours" Campaign.

It will be the M4A2 USMC 55gal drum wading project.

OK...Don't panic...i'll walk you through this. First you'll need to boil some water. Get some white towels and peroxide. Get me some garlic and wolfbane. I'll require some witchhazel and iodine. I'll need a fifth of whiskey, a gallon of rum and couple of bags of those baked potato chips that George Hamilton is hawking on TV, and maybe a rubber chicken. We'll need to move fast. You'll have to keep up or we might lose you. Are you listening...get a grip man. This is no time to lose your head. Now i'm going to send you out on this mission...you might not come back (today). If, and I mean if, you come back you will probably forgotten the reason you went out in the first place. Hence the cure for your "Shermaholicism". If this doesn't work, and you still have the "Shermies".... drop back and punt!
That will be $575.00 for the first hour. Thank you!
I knew this Guatamalean Psychologist degree would come in handy some day. Best $30.95 i ever spent.

There he goes again!...........I swear, I'm going to put a Contract out on this guy!!...... ................

....either that, or I'm going to fly to Michigan and tear down your deck rail so you cannot display anymore of your Sherm's!.......

Tread.

Oh, and Bodeen........I like your humour. :-) ;-)

I'm not worried about him, Tread --- he'll soon tire of those complicated paint schemes and overlapping road wheels, plus those mysterious numbers on their turrets. He'll be back in no time.
