I'm doing a quick build of a IDF M151. Although I wanted to use Academy's new kit I couldn't find any pics of a straight fender in IDF service. QUESTION: When was the indented fender introduced? with the a1 or a2. Thanks all

Hi Sir!
As far as I know the straight fenders where used in the M151 and M151A1, the M151A2 was already with the rounded shape (that's the version used by Israel), the M151 and M151A1 where used by the american forces in the Vietnam conflict, also some countries received theis version (Brazil received some ones when we participate along with the american troops (82nd airborne) in the Republic Dominican - UN intervention mid 60's).

The M151A2 brought the indented fender with it, along with the revised rear suspension arms, larger glass area windshield with washer, and other subtle changes. I believe the A2 went into production in 1970, with AMC General as the primary contractor. The fenders were exclusive to the A2 models and their derivitive TOW launcher/ambulance versions.

The indented fender. The indent was added to the front fender to allow the mounting of the larger turn signal. required by law to operate off post in the states.

Well I still insist that the IDF never used the M151 (with flat fenders!)

I am apt to agree with you Paulo except I am assured they have them by someone whois still in the service. I've sent him on a hunt as he just went to Miluim(reserves).
