Hello chaps,
Does anyone know of an aftermarket supplier that makes hazard warning lights in 1:35th , as is seen on many AFVs in Europe when travelling on public roads? Also known as whoopie lights.

Verlinden makes a set called Flashlights and Antenna Mounts 0187. They include various types of whoopie lights or more formally known as Rotating Amber Warning Light System (RAWLS).

Try railroading sites like...
Etc. Look under large scale railroad electronics or even R/C electronics.

Didnt one of the Italeri 5 Tons kits have a "Whoopie Light." Come to mention it, one of the Italeri HEMMTT kits has one too. Maybe you can collect some from some of the guys who are not going to use them.

The Verlinden set is sold resin.

Here's a better idea from a ML post:

When I was in we called them "gumball machines". I have made a could of them using the colored plastic push pins for bullitin boards. Put the pin in a drill and use a file to trim it down to the size and shape needed. once you get near start using fine grits of sandpaper and then rubbing/polishing compounds to get the look you want. Remove from the dril and cut off the bottom.

I have made blue ones for German Polizie cars, red for fire equipment and the yellow on my wrecker.

The Details West item # 235-106 (as listed in the Wathers catalog) Roof Top Rotary Beacon is as close to a perfect match to what we had on our M1's as I have ever seen anywhere. Perfect size and shape for 1/35.

Italeri makes two types. The M-923 Big Foot has one on a pole and the M-977 series HMMT kits has the roof mount ones. I used the pole type on the Alabama Slammer And the roof mount one on the M983 tractor
