Hello Everyone,
I am nearing completion on my Tamiya Panther G and have decided to use the WWII Productions Indy tracks. I am having some trouble painting the tracks as I cannot get paint into the "pivot points" of the links. I dont want to spray the paint too heavy and stick the links together. Anyone use these tracks before or can lend any help to my predicament. Is there some secret to painting indy links?? I appreicate any help anyone could lend.

Best Wishes,
Walter

Hi, Haven't used the kind of tracks you're talking about here, but have used several sets of the Fruilmodel tracks and I know what you mean about getting the areas down inside the links covered with paint.

I've found that once I've sprayed the tracks with the appropriate base coloring, I give them a good wash with an oil paint, maybe van dyck brown, or a mix of this and Mars black, or whatever you prefer. This wash tends to flow into all those little spaces and darkens up these areas real well for me. And then use whatever appropriate weathering techniques on them you prefer.

Anyway, you might give this a try and see how this works for you,

Good luck and take care, Sgirty

Thanks Sgirty!
I will definately give that a try! Don't know why I hadn't thought of that, I guess frustration tends to cloud the mind. I appreciate the help greatly, my hat's off to you!
