Hi Guys!!
I have the chance to pick up an old Heller kit, the Sherman M4A3...Now I know there's two types of turrets in the kit, the 75mm, and the 76mm turret, two sets of wheels, disk and spoked, and two different kinds of hull end plates!
So is this kit worth it's 15 euro's, (say $18), and is it wise to use it for extra parts on Tamiya kits?
Thanks for your time, John.

As a Heller kit, it is actually quite new, but it is an old Italeri kit that first saw the light of day in the late 80s.
At $18 that's a pretty good price for a complete M4A3 76mm or 75mm. Either turret could be used on any of the Tamiya A3 hulls (even the Jumbo if you leave off the add on armor).

I think Italeri wheels have the small hole and don't fit thw Tamiya bogie shaft. You need to drill the hole diameter larger.

If you want to build it, then it may not justify the time you will be spending on it. Better wait for the DML new offering.
If you want parts, then it is a bargain. You never have enough Sherman parts.

Hey DW have the Heller kit knowing full well it was a combination of Italeri kits. It just presents you with the chance to build an M4A3 76mm which otherwise isn't available (to the best of my knowledge) from Italeri... My main prob with the Italeri kits is that the bogeys seem a little light on in the detail department (don't get me wrong, same can be said of Tamiya, but they seem 'beefier' or something...)
But otherwise I reckon for the price you can produce a couple of variants at a nice price...
P.S. You aren't related to Pierre by any chance...?)
