Thank you, Will. The shell casings are from Mission Models, I believe. I am travelling now so I can't check. The paint was from Tamiya. I think it is called Desert Storm Sand.

At least the spent shells that I will be using for the loader's MG will be just brass rod.

Burik,
There would not be any rounds from the loaders M240 present. The box that is under the MG on the mount catches the spent brass and links. No brass or links fall on the turret roof. This was designed this way to keep the shells and links from fouling the turret floor and gears if they fall through the loader's hatch.
Bottom line, you can keep it as is and it will be correct. Looks good.

Speaking from experience, And comments that there were ALOT of rounds fired, I would tend to disagree. The Spent case box on the loaders M240 would hold 100-150 spent casings and links before it would become a problem to the operation of the MG.

Theoretically speaking, in the heat of combat, the loader may have disregarded putting the box back on after emptying it the first time. And even if he did, he would have never managed to chuck every spent casing over the side. So My vote is, put some 7.62 casings on there. What the heck!!

Sassy build dude
