Hey guys my M5A1 is nearing completion! I just need to drybrush a few more things and add the rest of the weathering. This is where you guys come into play; I need some advise. What is the best way to add dirt to the tracks and undercarriage? I know you have some good tips for me!!

This is what I do for the tracks and substructure:

1. I spray painted the whole thing with flat black
2. I apply whatever the base coat is on them
3. I spray tamiya "flat earth" mixed with "flat black" and spray paint the substructure
4. wash with artistic oil
5. I spary some buff to the substructure
6. dry brush tracks with gunze sanyo "metal black" "metal gray" and "gun metal"
7. use pastal chalk to apply small dusts

works for me. But I am sure someone else shall have better advise here. HTH.

Hey autofix
Here is something for you about adding dirt.

1. fine sand, pu tinto a small cup like you would dip stuff in.
2. add to the sand some water and white glue mix to hold together.
3. next add you some acrylic flat earth and a touch of black, add more if you want dries mud
4. mix :-) also you might want to add some static grass brown.
5. add more water if drying out to fast. when ready get a old paint brush and dip in and start laying the dirt mix on. when dry it will look realistic.
Hope this helps
